According to the world Health Organization (WHO), an estimate of about 8000 health workers in Africa alone has been infected by the novel corona-virus pandemic .

They made this announcement via a tweet in their official twitter handle. It read;

"More than 8,000 health workers has been infected with *covid19 in the Region. this is why infection prevention and control *IPC awareness is vital for all.

\WHO and partners have trained 50,00 + health workers to protect themselves and patients, and aims to reach over 200,000 in 2020".

The international health agency which has shown its commitment towards curbing the spread of this corona-virus pandemic, which began in china and has now spread to most part of the world. The Organization has trained 50,000 health workers in Africa on protecting themselves and other patients and is committed to training more.
